I don't ever remember seeing a California Ground Squirrel, but today I saw many. Seaside, on the central coast of California, the burrowing critters flourish. I saw some in Cambria and also San Simeon.
I like the regular ol' squirrels but California ground squirrels are a contender for overtaking them in the cuteness factor. The black shiny eyes always get me!
